Pampered Chef Party

I've been telling my mother off and on throughout this past year that I wanted to host a Pampered Chef Party but just never got around to it. Well, tonight it finally happened.

With those who attended the show and the outside orders, I can say the it was a success....the best one I've ever hosted. A big thank you to all the ladies.

Deep dish hamburger pizza was the recipe for the night.

I've always told myself the next time I host a party, I'm going to get the mandoline if it was cheap enough. Because the party did so well, I was able to get it FREE!!!! Also, I was able to get a few stocking stuffers for my Mother. Mom, bet your wondering what they are =)

Down Home

Leslie reminded me that I never blogged about my weekend back at my sending church. It has been a while since I was back and was great to see everyone. Several years ago, before heading to Haiti, Susan and I started up a Bible study. It continued until I left for Haiti. Once the Lord closed the door and I started deputation to Japan, Susan and picked right back up. About two years ago Leslie joined the group, Susan's sister. The two of them continued on after I moved in with my parents. Every time I'm back home we plan a Bible study. It really has been a blessing to study God's word with Susan for so many years and now Leslie. They both are a great challenge to me.

Susan, Leslie, and myself.
I was also able to make it for Laurel Hill's annual bowling night. We had a lot of fun bowling and many laughs. Notice both Steelers shirts? It was the night for Steelers because there were about five of us wearing their shirts. I really enjoyed my time with my church family.

Sunday afternoon project

My parents and I have been wanting to can venison and yesterday was the big day. Because my mother has been sick, it was up to my father and I to get the job done.

After spending quite sometime reading over the instructions, my father and I had a word of prayer and dove into canning. We were both so nervous we were going mess something up for sure...like all the jars cracking.

In the end, every single jar come out intact and all the lids sealed.

We had to get a pictures of the two proud canners.

All's well that ends well!

Time with my sisters

While I was down for Thanksgiving, Jane, Penny, Billy, Kathy and I all got together for traditional trip the Japanese restaurant. It was good to be together again but we missed Trina. Maybe at Christmas all four sisters can be together again.

Thanksgiving Day Pictures

I headed down to my Aunt and Uncle's for Thanksgiving. It was nice to spend time with family I don't get to see often.

My cousin Eric, his daughter and my Grandfather.

The family

I enjoyed my time at the "kids" table.
